  1. The Fig. below shows the typical maximum mode 8086 system.

  1. Here interfacing of memory and I/O devices are shown with the basic maximum mode configuration.
  2. The connections for memory and I/O devices are similar to that of minimum mode configuration.
  3. However, the generation of control signals from 8086 is done by external bus controller 8288.
