At the boundary of two perfect dielectric materials, $\epsilon_{1}$ and $\epsilon_{2}$, $D_{1}$ is incident at an angle $\theta_{1}$, with respect to normal to the boundary surface.

It can be proved that

$D_{2}=D_{1}\sqrt{\cos^{2}\theta_{1}+(\frac{\epsilon_{2}}{\epsilon_{1}})^{2}}\sin^{2}\theta_{1}$

$E_{2}=E_{1}\sqrt{\sin^{2}\theta_{1}+(\frac{\epsilon_{1}}{\epsilon_{2}})^{2}}\cos^{2}\theta_{1}$
