Information Technology (Semester 7)

Total marks: 80
Total time: 3 Hours
(1) Question 1 is compulsory.
(2) Attempt any three from the remaining questions.
(3) Draw neat diagrams wherever necessary.

1(a) If a signal to interference ratio of 15dB is required for satisfactory forward channel performance of a cellular system. What is the frequency reuse factor (Q) and Cluster size (N) that should be used for maximum capacity if the path loss exponent is as follows:

  • (i) n = 4
  • (ii) n =3

Assume there are six co-channel cells in the first tier and all of them are at same distance from mobile. Use suitable approximations.
