  • The conventional activated sludge has been modified to eliminate the primary sedimentation & sludge digestion tank in a process called extended aeration, which aims at providing an aeration tank with longer aeration time a common application of this process has been made in ditch.

  • The construction of an oxidation ditch plant generally is a number of ditch channel placed together side by side having depth about 1 to 1.5m the width of the ditches & is limited to the type & availability of the ditches in limited.

  • The oxidation ditches may vary either in earthwork with earthen embankment or instance masonry with vertical walls.
