For a given torque, multiplate clutches are radially smaller than single plate clutches.
Hence, the arrangement in it is compact.
This compactness causes serious heat dissipation issues.
To avoid this, a cooling oil case is implemented, which helps in convecting the heat.
Hence, multiplate clutches are wet whereas single plate are not.
