GOVERNOR FLYWHEEL
1) The governor controls and maintains the engine operation and its main speed under different load conditiond by varying the fuel supply to the engine. 1) Flywheel reduces the unavoidable fluctuation of the speed arising due to difference between driving torque and the land torque over the cycle of operation.
2) The flywheel is always under operation when the engine is running. 2) The governor operates only when the engine is not running at its mean speed.
3) The governor has no influence on the cyclic speed fluctuation , it only ensures the engine running smoothly at mean speed. 3) The flywheel has no influence on mean speed of the engine. It only takes care about the fluctuation of the speed.
4) Governor is required at l time in the engine system since it controls the fuel supply to the engine. 4) If the cyclic fluctuation of energy is very lessflywheel may be excluded from the system also.
