• RC oscillators are not suitable for high frequency applications i.e above 1 MHz since the phase shift through the amplifier and the phase shift of the lead-lag circuit jointly cause resonance to occur at different frequencies other than the specified resonant frequency.

• With an amplifier and LC feedback tank circuit, a signal can be feedback with correct amplitude and phase for sustained oscillations.

• LC oscillators provide good frequency stability and generate good quality signals at high frequency.

• LC oscillators have a good phase stability low susceptibility to noise. To produce a wave correct shape.

• LC oscillator has large Q factor describes the nature of oscillation. Higher Q factor, lower damped oscillations or sustained oscillations. Device having high Q factor has low rate of energy loss and produced sustained oscillations for long period of time.Hence LC oscillator preferred for high frequency oscillations.
