An ultrasonic pulse of 0.09M Hz sends down towards the sea-bed which returns after 0.55 seconds.

The velocity of ultrasonic waves in sea water is 1800 m/sec . calculate the depth of sea and wavelength of ultrasonic pulse.

Given data :- $f = 0.09 × 10^6Hz, \hspace{1cm} t=0.55 sec , \hspace{1cm} v=1800m/sec.$

$ Formula :- 2d = vt ,\hspace{1cm} v = fλ$

$ Solution :- d = vt/2 =(1800×0.55)/2 = 495 m$

$ λ= v/f=1800/(0.09×10^6 ) = 0.2 A°$

Answer :- depth of sea = 495 m

Wavelength = 0.2A°
