Total amount of NaCl required for regeneration = 150 x 103 x 150

= 225 x 105

58.5 gm of NaCl = 50 gm of CaCO3

225 x 105 mg NaCl = 225 x 105/58.5 X 50

CaCO3 equivalent of NaCl =192.31 X 105mg of CaCO3

Hardness of 1 lit of water = 600 ppm

Volume of water =CaCO3 equivalent of NaCl /hardness

Volume of water =192.31 X 105 /600

Volume of water =32051 lit
