Important terms:

] HEIGHT OF GOVERNOR: It is vertical distance measured from the centre of balls to the point of intersection of upper arms or arms produced on the axis of spindle.

] RADIUS OF ROTATION: It is the horizontal distance from the axis of rotation to centre of ball mass, at any speed.

] SLEEVE-LIFT: It is the vertical distance travelled by sleeve due to change in equilibrium speed.

] EQUILIBRIUM SPEED: It is the speed @ which governor ball, arms are in complete equilibrium and there is no any moment of sleeve upward or downward.
