Explain Cell dragging in GSM.

Cell dragging is due to pedestrian users who travel at a very slow speed and thus give a very strong signal to the bbasse station. The fast moving vehicles are unable to give such a strong strength signal to the base station.
In urban areas when there is line of sight between the MS and the BS as the user travels away from the base station at a very low speed, the average signal strength does not decay rapidly.
Even when the user has travelled well beyond the cell radius, the recieved signal at the base station does not fall below the threshold value and thus the handoff is not made.
This creates traffic management problem and this concept is called cell dragging. The solution to this problem is by adjusting the threshold in such areas and adjusting the radio coverage parameters as required.
