FHSS: frequency hopping spread spectrum

devices will transmit signal by changing or hopping from one frequency to another in a random but predictable sequence.

• Channels: specific hop pattern (26 diff hop pattern)
• Dwell time: 100 milliseconds
• Hop time: microseconds

DSSS: direct sequence spread spectrum

DSSS phase shifts a sinewave pseudo randomly with a continuous string of pseudo noise(PN) code symbols called “chips”. Each info bit is modulated by a sequence of much faster chips.
