Start Katalon Studio

To start Katalon Studio, double-click on the katalon.exe (Microsoft Windows) or katalon (Linux / Mac) file in the directory where you unpack Katalon Studio.
Once started, the application should display a splash screen similar to the following screenshot.
Activate Katalon Build :

After launching Katalon Studio, provide your Katalon's username and password to activate your Katalon Studio Instance.

Your username and password are the ones you provide when downloading Katalon Studio. You can register a different account by clicking on "Register"
Feature Introduction

When you first start Katalon, you will be greeted with the following Quick Guide screen to guide you through all Katalon's major features. You can skip it if you wish, and access this Quick Guide later from the Help menu.

At the end of the introduction, you are given an option to start a new project. Select OK for now
Create a Project

Enter the name of your new project and the location to store the project data on your machine. Then click Next. (Selecting Finish will generate a blank project).

Katalon provides sample test modules to help you get started quickly. Select suitable modules for your project. You can use them as a reference. Let's select them all and click Finish.

The new project with Sample Modules will be generated.
Create Your First Test Case

Click on the New Test Case button on the main Toolbar to create a new test case with its name, description, and tag.

After clicking on OK, the test case is created, and the test case screen is shown for you to detail the test case: On the test case screen, you can compose the test case by recording, scripting or manually entering test steps. For now, let's quickly generate the test script using recording. Click on Record on the main Toolbar, and the Record Dialog is shown as follows.

Click Start to launch the target browser and start recording. During recording, actions performed on the browser will be recorded and be generated into test steps. Note: You can choose the target browser to be launched by selecting it from the Start dropdownlist.

Let's create a simple script by going to Google Search and lookup for two keywords "kms technology". Click on OK when you finish recording

Objects and actions performed on the browser are reported to Katalon

Now you can click on Run on the main Toolbar to execute the script.

Congratulations! You have just successfully created and executed your first test case!
