Total closing error in latitude = ∑.northing - ∑.southing =230.192 – 221.637 = 8.56 = +8.56 (correction –ve)

Total closing error in departure = ∑easting - ∑.westing =291.74 – 292.414 = -0.67 = -0.67 (correction +ve)

By applying Bowditch rule for adjustment of correction

Correction of latitude = $\frac{\text{error in latitude ×length of that side}}{\text{perimeter of traverse}}$

Correction of departure = $\frac{\text{error in departure ×length of that side}}{\text{perimeter of traverse}}$

Perimeter of traverse = 792.93m

Correction of latitude-

  1. Correction in line PQ = $\frac{8.56×78}{92.93}$ = 0.8420

    Correction latitude of line PQ = 49.086 – 0.8420 = 48.2441

  2. Correction in line QR = $\frac{8.56×203.10}{792.93}$ = 2.1925

    Correction latitude of line QR = 45.11 – 2.1925= 42.9175

  3. Correction in line RS = $\frac{8.56×149.01}{792.93}$ = 1.6086

    Correction latitude of line RS = -145.287 – 1.6086= -146.8956

  4. Correction in line PQ = $\frac{8.56×152.70}{792.93}$ = 1.6484

    Correction latitude of line PQ = - 76.35 – 1.6484= - 77.9984

  5. Correction in line PQ = $\frac{8.56×210.12}{92.93}$ = 2.2683
