Weight of sand filling the=$(w_{1}-w_{2})$

excavated hole and wne=(10500-9450)= 1050g

Weight of sand filling cone only=$(w_{2}-w_{2})=(9450-9005)$ =445g

ii) Borrow pit:- $\gamma_{d}=\frac{\gamma}{1+w}=\frac{17}{1+0.15}=14.78kN/m^{3}$

e=$(\frac{G\gamma w}{\gamma d}-1)$=0.778

n=$\frac{e}{1+e}$=0.438

$s=\frac{w.g}{e}=\frac{0.15 \times 2.68}{0.778}$=0.516 or 51.6%

$a_{c}=n(1-s)=0.438(1-0.516)$=0.211

The degree of saturaton is 51.6% and air content is 0.211
