Given:- $W_{L}$=56%, Ip=15%, W=45%
(i) $I_{c}=\frac{W_{L}-W}{I_{p}} = \frac{56-45}{15}$=0.73
soil is in plastic state and has medium stiff consistency
ii)$W_{p}=w_{L}-I_{p}=56-15$=41%
iii) e=0.88, G=2.71, $W_{s}$=?
$s_{d}=\frac{G\gamma_{w}}{1+e} = \frac{2.71 \times 1}{1+0.88}$=1.44g/c.c
$W_{s}=\frac{s_{w}}{S_{d}}=\frac{1}{G}=\frac{1}{1.44}-\frac{1}{2.71}$=0.325 i.e 32.5%
