Construction:
Aluminum electrolytic capacitor are constructed by placing dielectric between two conducting material.
To form conducting material Aluminum foil is used. A layer of aluminium oxide is deposited to form thin dielectric material
Advantage: Very High capacitance Small in size
Disadvantage: Polarized Limited life span High loss Capacitance change with time and temperature Capacitance range 5 uF to 2000 uF( approx..)
Applications: When high capacitance are required DC applications Smoothening of voltage Coupling
