Tdg=$\frac{Ag \times fy}{\gamma ma}$=$\frac{(160\times 8)\times 250}{11}$

Tdg=296.90 kn

2.Path ABC An=[(b-ndo)+$\sum \frac{p^{2}}{4g}]\times t$

=$[(160-3\times 18)+(0)]\times 8$

An=848mm$^{2}$

Path ADE

An=[(160-4$\times18)+(\frac{40^{2}}{4\times25}+\frac{40^{2}}{4\times 25})]\times t$

An=960mm$^{2}$

strength govern by rupture of net section

Tdn=0.9$\times An\times \frac{fu}{\gamma m1}$

=0.9$\times848\times\frac{410}{1.25}$

=250.32kN

design strength of plate 250.32kN
