LIMITATION OF PLATE LOAD TEST

  • Plate load test is performed for short duration.Hence settlement computed by this test is immediate settlement and not consolidation settlement.
  • Plate load test is performed for shallow depth so in this test we can't investigate the soil at larger depth.
  • In plate load test the ultimate binary capacity for clay is independent of the size of the size of the forty r plate but in the case of sand the ultimate B.C depends on the size of the forty r plate.
