Following is a list of bridges used in measurement of resistance, capacitance, and inductance:
For resistance –
Wheatstone’s Bridge – Galvanometer pointer deflects as per changes in current
Kelvin’s Bridge – Modified version of Wheatstone’s Bridge, particularly used for very low resistance measurement.
For capacitance –
Schering Bridge – Comparison of capacitances
Wien’s Bridge – Precision measurement of capacitance in terms of resistance and frequency
De Sauty’s Bridge – Standard comparison of capacitances
For inductance –
Maxwell Bridge – Used to find out the self-inductance and the quality factor of the circuit
Hay’s Bridge – Modified version of Maxwell Bridge
