Modified Dulongs formula for energy content is as follows:

Energy content $(Btu/lb) = 145C + 610*(H-O/2) + 40S +10N$

Since Ash is a left out matter in the process so that content of ash will not be included in the energy content calculations.

Energy content

= $145*35 + 610*(10-40/8) + 40*3 +10*8$

= 8325 Btu/lb
