Modified Dulongs formula for energy content is as follows:

Energy content $(Btu/lb)= 145C + 610*(H-O/2) + 40S +10N$

Since Ash is a left out matter in the process so that content of ash will not be included in the energy content calculations.

Energy content$=145*38 + 610*(9.5-41.5/8) + 40*2 +10*6 \\ = 3930.62 Btu/lb$
