A sweep surface is generated by constructing a curve and transform it. They are not generated as interpolations or approximations of the point or line.

Sweep surfaces are classified as,

1. Rotational sweep
2. Translational sweep
3. Hybrid sweep (combination of rotational & translational sweep)
