External dimensions of a wooden cuboid are 30cm x 25cm x 20cm. If the thickness of wood is 2 cm all round.Find the volume of the wood contained in the cuboid formed.

Solution:
External length of the cuboid = 30cm
External breadth of the cuboid = 25 cm
External height of the cuboid = 20 cm
External volume of the cuboid = (30 x 25 x 20) $xm^{2}$
$= 15000 cm^{2}$
Internal volume of the cuboid = (26 x 21 x 16) $cm^{2}$
$ = 8736 cm^{2}$
Volume of wood = External volume = Internal volume
$= 15000 cm^{2} = 8736 cm^{2}$
$= 6264 cm^{2}$
