Sand Silt Clay
Large in size Medium in size Very fine in size
No plasticity Very low plasticity High plasticity
Large space between particles. Medium space between particles. Small space between particles.
Gritty rough or coarse. Smooth,slipping and floury Hard when dry
Non-sticky Non-sticky Sticky when wet.
