Different roles of project team are as follows:

1) Project Manager:

Project manager plays very important part in a project and is responsible for its success. The project manager’s role is to ensure that the project proceeds within the specified time frame and under the established budget while achieving its objectives. Project managers ensures that projects are given sufficient resources while managing relationships with contributors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities of project manager:

  • Developing a project plan
  • Managing deliverables according to the plan
  • Recruiting project staff
  • Leading and managing the project team
  • Determining the methodology used on the project
  • Establishing a project schedule and determining each phase
  • Assigning tasks to project team members
  • Communicating with upper management about the regular updates and necessary information.

2) Project Team Member: Project team members are the people who continuously work on the development of project. They may be in-house staff or external consultants, working on the project on a full-time or part-time basis. Project team member roles can vary according to each project.

Responsibilities of project team members are as follows:

  • Contribute to overall project objectives

  • Complete individual deliverables

  • Provide expertise

  • Work with users to determine and meet business needs

  • Document the process

3) Project Sponsor: Project sponsor plays very important role in any project. Without project sponsor a project may not even exist. Project sponsors are typically members of senior management and have a stake in the project’s outcome. Project sponsors work closely with the project manager. They legitimize the project’s objectives and participate in high-level project planning.

Responsibilities of project sponsor:

  • Making key business decisions for the project.

  • Approving the project budget.

  • Project Sponsor ensures the availability of resources.

  • Communicating the project’s goals throughout the organization.

4) Executive Sponsor: Executive sponsor is a high-ranking member of management. Executive sponsor is the ultimate decision-maker, with final approval on all phases, deliverables and project scope changes.

Responsibilities of executive sponsor:

  • Approving all changes to the project scope

  • Providing additional funds for scope changes

  • Approving project deliverables

  • Carrying all the responsibility of the project

5) Business Analyst: The main role of business analyst is to recognize the requirements of the organization and suggests solutions to the problems. Business analyst make sure that the current project’s objectives can solve existing problems and add value to the organization. They can also help make the most of project deliverables.

Responsibilities of business analyst:

  • Business analyst helps in defining the project.

  • Collecting requirements from business units or users.

  • Documenting technical and business requirements

  • They makes sure that project deliverables meet the requirements

  • They test solutions to validate objectives
