Statement: Consider three bodies A,B and C. If A is in thermal equilibrium with B and B is in thermal equilibrium with C then A will also be in thermal equilibrium with C.

Significance:

  • It has wide applications in thermometry.

  • If body C is a thermometer and it’s used to measure temperatures of A and B. If it shoes both the readings as same, then C is infact showing its own temperature.
