COP of Pump = Ratio of heat transferred to work done.

= Qh/W … i

COP of refrigerater = Ratio of heat removed to work done.

= Ql/W … ii

By first law, Qh = W + Ql

(W + QL)/W = 1+ Cop ref (from ii) …
