Step 1: Null Hypothesis $(H_0):$ There is no association between the sex & attitude.

Alternate hypothesis $(H_a):$ There is association between the sex & attitude

Step 2: $LOS=5\%$ (Two tailed test)

Degree of freedom $=(r-1)(e-1) \\ =(3-1)(2-1) \\ =2$

$\therefore$ Critical value $(x_a^2)=5.9915$

Step 3: Test statistic

$x_{cal}=\sum \dfrac {(0-E)^2}E=18.77$

Step 4:Decision

Since $x_{cal}^2\gtx_a^2, H_0$ is accepted

$\therefore $ there Is association between the sex and attitude
